The laughter telephone is in the running for the 10,000 euro audience prize of the German Engagement Prize 2023. From September 12th to October 24th you can vote for the laughter telephone at https://www.deutscher-engagementpreis.de/publikumspreis/nominierte/5374-lachtelefon-e-v. You have to click on the orange button with „Jetzt abstimmen“ on it and write your first name („Vorname“), your surname („Name“) and your E-Mail adress (and repeat it). Then accept the privacy protection and send with „Jetzt abstimmen“. You get an E-Mail and click on the link to confirm your vote.
Committed to laughter and joy of life
We are thrilled about the nomination and see a great opportunity to use the award to show the importance of commitment to laughter and joy in life. Many laughter yogis from Germany and Austria have jointly launched this project to create uncomplicated, easy access to laughter. Every day we hear on the phone how important the number has become for our callers. Our “regular laughers” get their little moment of happiness every day on the phone, their voice training, their cardiovascular activation or the joyful, happy contact with us, who are usually just as happy to laugh with the callers.
Chance to win up to 10,000 euros in prize money
The audience prize is endowed with 10,000 euros. The top 50 winners of the vote also win participation in a joint training seminar in Berlin. If they win, the Laughter Phone would use the prize money for its charitable purposes.

Nationally renowned award
The nomination provides further high-level recognition for the commitment to spreading laughter and joy of life. Only winners of other awards that honor voluntary commitment in Germany can be nominated for the German Commitment Award. This year, 390 nominees have the chance to be awarded the German Engagement Award and receive the Audience Award or one of the 5 jury prizes. The winners of all prizes will be announced at an awards ceremony on December 5th in Berlin, which will be broadcast via live stream.

Background: The German Engagement Prize
The German Engagement Prize is the most important award for civic engagement in our country. It inspires commitment, makes it visible and strengthens appreciation.
As the prize of the prizes, it combines the competitions that encourage volunteer work. He offers advice and exchange to the approximately 650 engagement competitions from all over Germany. These engagement competitions can nominate their first place winners for the German Engagement Prize every year. By participating in the German Engagement Prize, the nominees receive recognition and public attention.
Since 2009, the initiator and recipient of the German Engagement Prize has been the Alliance for Non-Profit, an association of large umbrella organizations and independent organizations as well as experts from the non-profit sector. Funding partners are the Federal Ministry for Family, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, the German Television Lottery, the Deutsche Bahn Foundation and the German Foundation for Commitment and Volunteering. As a media partner, the Ströer company increases public attention and recognition for those involved.
